Brasil's Veterinarian Seminar - Social Responsibility and Animal Welfare
Targeting professionals and students of the Veterinarian field, the
seminar brought local and international lecturers to cover how social
oriented initiatives can also mean opportunity and promote a professional
career. Successful initiatives in Brazil and abroad, that moved society's
level of awareness on pet population control and responsible ownership,
were also presented.

The 9th International Conference on Men-Animal Interactions took
place in Rio de Janeiro in September 2001. The central theme was "People
and Animals: a global perspective for the 21st century".

The training program called "Zoonosis Control and Man-Animal
Interaction", promoted by both the World Health Organization
and the International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organizations
(IAHAIO), and organized by Arca Brasil, took place at the Hotel Rancho
Silvestre in Embu das Artes, in September, 2001.

November 1999
Aiming at calling the public attention to the problem of stray animals,
Arca Brasil organized, in November 1999, the photographic exhibition
called "Um Dia de Gato" (A Cat Day). Felines were chosen
as the theme of the exhibition since they are frequently abused and
victims of prejudice in Brazil.

in the Latin-American Parliament, Sao Paulo, SP.
- 2000 - 3rd Latin-American Animal Welfare Conference,
in Embu das Artes, SP.
These events - landmarks in the history of animal protection in South America - brought together experts from all over the world, promoting an extensive exchange of knowledge on animal issues.
In 1998, in Prague, Czech Republic and with the participation of WHO (World Health Organization), Arca Brasil presented its pioneering work on the implementation of pet population control and RPO programs in Brazil.
