The Cockgate continues

ARCA BRASIL waits for Duda Mendonça's final sentence. So far more than 250 messages were sent to the Brazilian Minister of Justice, Márcio Thomaz Bastos.

Doubtful decisions - On March 8th, Duda Mendonça's lawyers pledge of Habeas Corpus was accepted, which turned down the accusations of gang assembling and crime appology. But the prossecution continues, based on Federal Environmental Law 9.605/98 the country's animal welfare law.

Six days later, on march 14th, judge Joel Pereira dos Santos postponed the judgment. According to him the remaining acusation - misdemeanor to animals - has lower offensive potential.

Now full attention goes to a positive sentence to the animals. "We understand that a punishment will be an example to a society that consolidates its values towards animals, especially considering the importance of those involveds", said ARCA Brasil president Marco Ciampi.
